Hey look, mister - we serve hard drinks in here for men who want to get drunk fast, and we don't need any characters around to give the joint "atmosphere".

Cocktail Hour is open; talk about whatever's on your mind (including politics, as long as it's friendly). Drinks are half-price for anyone who shows up with a suitably hard-bitten, cynical quote from a really sappy holiday movie.

It's Friday and time once again for Kvatch's Kocktail Hour. This afternoon we honor Karl Rove with a drink created by the great man himself:

Machiavelli's Mojito

- 2 oz lime juice
- 2 oz rum
- 2 oz club soda
- Hemlock leaves, crushed

- 4 parts mescal (complete with a low-fat worm)
- 1 part butane
- Stir very...VERY gently
