Because it is the most entertaining film of 2005, combining action, humor, suspense, wit, terror, and human drama; because it has the most appealing, most interesting, most human characters of any film in 2005; and because it is one of the most intelligent films of 2005, exploring issues of faith, loyalty, fanaticism, and the unintended consequences of good intentions.Apparently, you are allowed to choose a movie other than Serenity, but I'm not sure why anyone would want to do that.
