Bush DOJ Update

The hits just keep coming. Yesterday I wrote about the Bush Department of Justice abandoning voting rights enforcement; today, the Washington Post has more on the subject:

Justice Department lawyers concluded that the landmark Texas congressional redistricting plan spearheaded by Rep. Tom DeLay (R) violated the Voting Rights Act, according to a previously undisclosed memo obtained by The Washington Post. But senior officials overruled them and approved the plan.
The DeLay redistricting, you will recall, added five Republican seats to congress. Purest coincidence, of course.
