Conservative Day

In the spirit of the season, of peace and goodwill toward all people (even the dense and the deluded and the dishonest), I am reaching out across the yawning chasm that divides us and, in a gesture of immense generosity (if I do say so myself), giving today's blog over entirely to conservative voices. After all, we are all human, despite evidence to the contrary, and thus have more in common than we have dividing us. I trust my fellow liberals will stick around and give my guests the respect that any of us would hope to encounter in their position.

First up: Washington Times columnist Bruce Fein:

President Bush presents a clear and present danger to the rule of law. He cannot be trusted to conduct the war against global terrorism with a decent respect for civil liberties and checks against executive abuses. Congress should swiftly enact a code that would require Mr. Bush to obtain legislative consent for every counterterrorism measure that would materially impair individual freedoms.

[That's all, folks]
