Pancho Navidad, a gift from my brother Steve (who was always cooler than me)
Last post of the year. In a few hours we're going over to our friend P's for New Year's Eve. P is the editor of Proust Said That and former owner of Caffe Proust and, as you might guess, a Proust fanatic. So I thought it was a nice sign when I turned on NPR this morning and they were in the middle of an interview with Alain de Botton about Proust. I'm making all-crab derves: Vietnamese salad rolls with crab, and a crab and artichoke spread. Jody is making chocolate truffles from an Alice Medrich recipe.
I hope all of you (both of you?) reading this have a wonderful New Year's, and a 2006 that is much better than 2005.
[That's all, folks]
