Also, a question. But first, the ten:
Television - The Dream's Dream
Gang of 4 - We Live As We Dream, Alone
Gang of 4 - The History of the World
Mikis Theodorakis - State of Siege
Tom Jones - Kung Fu Fighting
The Wailers - Driftwood
Talking Heads - Memories Can't Wait
Shriekback - This Big Hush
Bryan Ferry - Same Old Blues
Hüsker Dü - Tell You Why Tomorrow
And now the question: over at Shakespeare's Sister, in a thread devoted to the sorry state of the Grammy nominees, people have devoted a good deal of invective to a particularly execrable bit of sonic pollution some consider a 'song' (although I have my doubts; judge for yourself)--which, I am thankful to say, I have never heard. My question is: why would anyone have heard this thing? For that matter, why would anyone have heard any of the Grammy nominees--Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani, or even (with all due respect to a band that was pretty good 25 years ago) U2? Given the audio options available today, what excuse can there possibly be for listening to (non-public, non-college) radio? Why would anyone subject themselves to that?
As always, feel free to post whatever you're listening to.
