Via Josh Marshall, I read a heartwarming little story called Poll: Bush Ratings At All-Time Low, in which Bush gets a 34% approval rating (which, as it happens, is right at the BTKWB limit).
The more interesting part (to me) is a sidebar with some historical perspective. It turns out that not only are Bush's numbers dismal compared to other presidents in their second terms; they're dismal compared to other presidents in the middle of scandals. Yes, Nixon is still the only president with worse ratings than Bush...and his weren't even that much worse (27% in January 1974, 24% the month of his resignation).
Poor George. At least he's still a popular president.
[That's all, folks]
