No death penalty for Moussaoui. Good. That means no martyrdom.
More importantly, it means not rewarding the prosecution. The whole capital case was based on ignoring that pesky little Fifth Amendment (and yes, I'm sure he technically waived it somehow...but the idea of executing a man for failing to incriminate himself is just revolting to me on a gut level), and on the notion that Moussaoui knew as much as he claimed to know during his most extravagant flights of grandeur, and on the extremely unlikely possibility that knowing what Moussaoui supposedly knew they would have been competent enough to prevent the hijackings. The fact that they even tried to get a death sentence in this case is a sad statement about post-9/11 'justice'.
[That's all, folks]
