Today's Chronicle has this front page headline: Governor wants some inmates sent out of state.
Well, that's what Schwarzenegger does, isn't it? If the state has a problem that can't be solved without doing something unpopular, he just makes it somebody else's problem. Massive deficits that can't be solved without raising taxes? Buy a bunch of bonds, and make them a problem for the next generation.
And if prison overcrowding is so bad that they're restricting how many times inmates can flush the toilet (the waste systems can't handle it), he'll send some inmates somewhere else. That's what he calls 'problem-solving'.
It might be a way to get re-elected (I hope not), but it's sure as hell no way to govern.
