Random Flickr Bloggin' (NiP): IMG_7226

I've always loved photographs of urban scenes taken at night. They're compelling, somehow; they're evocative of something I can't quite articulate. They give me a sense of excitement, of being alive, of "being there" and maybe even experiencing something noteworthy. More than any other type of photo, they give me that wondrous feeling of a moment in time captured forever (although this one is a time-exposure, so it’s actually several moments captured). It's not easy to capture the ambient colors and light in a nighttime photograph, but this one did it admirably. Nice shot.

Two more below the fold ...

This picture made me laugh. I'm sure the shot was deliberate, but given how the camera's auto-focus locked in on the dog, one almost gets the impression that the couple had set the self-timer to take their own picture … and the dog wandered in front of the lens at the last second. ;-)

And now for something completely different: a man with three knees. (Apologies to Monty Python.) ;-)

[That's all, folks]
