More "Victory or Death"

The other really, really obvious problem with the whole victory or death ethic is: victory or whose death? Not Newt's, not Victor Davis Hanson's, not any of the chickenhawk warbloggers'. When Washington's troops used 'victory or death' as a password, the phrase reflected their reality. When Gingrich uses it as a slogan...not so much.
