Sometimes I'm listening to my iPod and some line in some song makes me laugh out loud. Certain lines just make me laugh every time I hear them. It's a little embarrassing when it happens in public, as it did the other day (waiting for the bus), but it's well worth it.
One of my favorites is in Born Under Punches (Talking Heads), when David Byrne sings: "Don't you miss it...don't you miss it...some of you people just about missed it." I picture people hearing this and thinking "what? what? what did I miss?" And I laugh.
The one that made me laugh the other day was in I'm Straight (The Modern Lovers), when Jonathan Richman sings "I'm certainly not stoned!" It's almost certainly sincere (from what I've read) and almost certainly true, and yet he sounds exactly like somebody who's baked out of his gourd and trying to convince some authority figure otherwise ("I'm certainly not stoned, Dad!").
What are the funniest lines to y'all? What lines in songs always make you laugh?
