Okay, no music question this week...instead, we're going to talk about cars. Jody and I are going car shopping over the weekend, and we're looking for something good for the city that I can also take up to the mountains--i.e., smallish (with decent gas mileage) but with maximum cargo capacity within its size class. Also, reliability is key.

Oh, and it has to be cheap.

I've more or less ruled out Gringolandian cars (although if someone can make a good case for a specific model, I'll reconsider); at this point we're looking at something like a Honda Fit (at the small end) or a Toyota Matrix or possibly a Scion XB or Subaru Impreza wagon (at the larger end).

Anybody have any suggestions for other possibilities, or experience with any of these? Any help will be gratefully accepted. Hell, if we buy what you suggest we'll even name the car after you (unless it's a Honda Fit, in which case we're already planning to name it Hissy).
