Where we were staying in Marshall they brought breakfast to our room, but not until 9:00, which to me is pretty much mid-morning. So early Saturday morning I drove up to Tomales, the nearest little town, to get a desperately-needed cup of coffee (I hadn't had an afternoon cup the day before, so I was 24+ hours without caffeine at this point). I got my coffee and turned left onto a side street to avoid making an illegal U-turn on Highway 1 in the middle of town (you never know who's watching)--and right there was this flock of wild turkeys. Who proceeded to cross the road. And no, I don't know why--that wasn't a rhetorical question.
