Faster than I Expected

I got off the bus this morning and walked past a Chronicle newsrack with this headline: CALIFORNIA MAJORITY BACKS GAY MARRIAGE. It's the first time any poll has shown support higher than opposition--51% to 42%, which is a pretty good margin. I was optimistic, but even I didn't think it would happen this quickly.
