Over at Lawyers, Guns, and Money, d is mocking our old friend Treason-in-Defense-of-Slavery Yankee for a post in which he echoes and amplifies Bush's warning about the consequences of 'premature' withdrawal from Iraq (for example, "Turkey...would invade northern Iraq"--which would never happen as long as we stay). I'm normally right there with d, especially where TIDOS Yankee is concerned, but this time I think he's being a little unfair. It's not hard to think of a case in which a military occupation was ended prematurely, with catastrophic consequences that persist to this day.

I'm sure that's the basis for TIDOS Yankee's concerns.
