Look Over There

David Broder thinks something groundbreaking happened last week.

That accomplished woman who nearly won the Democratic nomination for President of the United States? The brilliant young black guy who defeated her? Their record-shattering contest, the one that whipped Democrats around the country into a positive frenzy?

Feh.

John McCain proposing "a series of 10 joint town meetings" where he can fatten like a tick on the Democratic energy? Now that's something The Dean can get excited over:

This simple-sounding idea, which stirred no great excitement last week, could turn out to be one of the best things to happen to our politics maybe since the enfranchisement of women. Too bad it was eclipsed by the Adventures of Hillary.
Priorities, people. Priorities.
