ST. PAUL, Minn. (MarketWatch) -- Hurricane Gustav was reduced to a Category 2 storm early Monday as it approached the Louisiana coastline -- potentially sparing the city of New Orleans from severe damage -- but there still was concern about what the swirling mass of wind and water might do to communities west of the Big Easy.
Nothing looks worse than posturing and looking heroic if its not necessary. If this storm peters out in a welter of recriminations about the botched evacuation (see here) McCain and Palin will have sacrificed their convention balloons to effectively attempt to preside over nothing.
