I realized last night that her most important qualification for the (vice) presidency isn't being a mayor or a governor; it's her experience as a sports reporter for a local TV news show. She delivered endless streams of obfuscatory bafflegab, but she did it in a perky upbeat folksy local-affiliate manner, as if she were reporting the curling scores. She never really knows what she's talking about, but a TV news announcer doesn't need to know; all they need is poise enough to mask how far out of their depth they really are.
