Over the last couple of weeks I posted about how political hacks in the DOJ are overturning the recommendations of analysts and lawyers in voting rights cases (including Tom DeLay's redistricting of Texas, which the analysts found to be illegal).
Kevin Drum reports that the problem has been solved: new guidelines for civil rights division analysts require them to present the relevant information in a strictly neutral manner, without giving even the merest hint of a recommendation. No more paper trail; no more having to overrule the analysts.
Problem solved.
[That's all, folks]
