Shoe Vandalism

This was the 5-Fulton bus shelter near our house on Sunday night. Someone smashed the glass and took the ad; someone (else?) left a whole bunch of (carefully paired) shoes. Are they connected? I have no idea. It's just another enigmatic scene in the big city.
