This month is the one-year anniversary of my joining eMusic. As you may have gathered from passing comments, I'm pretty happy with it (and I have to say, this is a pretty swell Random 10). Below the fold is a list of all of the bands, and all of the compilation albums, whose music I've downloaded during the last year. Bands whose music I had not previously owned in any form are in italics; particularly noteworthy bands (or compilation albums) are in boldface. Standout new bands (new to me, that is) include The Budos Band, Dengue Fevver, Buttersprites, Telephone Jim Jesus, and Young Marble Giants; I had (of course) heard of YMG, but the others were all previously unknown to me. Standout compilation albums include the Ethiopiques series (collect 'em all!), Disco/Not Disco (great danceable post-punk), Nigeria 70 - Lagos Jump, and Look Directly Into the Sun (gotta love that Chines post-punk).
